My GT4 Journey

Spent less than 2hrs today playing it. Thinking of getting an A license, so far everything's been smooth sailing, I got silvers in a jiff. Until it reaches Test A-5 _-_ I have to say tho, my skill has been improving, I've been handling those corners and turns pretty good. I still have problems with those U ones with faster cars, but hey, I'm learnin' here. End of Report. --GodSpeed

Play GT4 Online (Sort of...)

Many people have been shocked by the news regarding Gran Turismo 4 not being online. This group of UK programmers have created something to let you do just that. Once again, I haven't try this myself cuz I don't have a network adaptor yet.
Requirements:
- Broadband router
- PS2 Network Adaptor

Software:
- Xlink Kai: Evolution VII (Windows, Mac, or Linux)

How:
- PC+PS2 must be able to go online via broadband router.
- Set up an Xtag account. This'll enable you to see other people using the Xlink software and play against them.
- After installation, run 'Start Kai Config Tool'.
- Select 'Normal Kai Use' as your default profile.
- Enter your Xtag + pass, don't forget to check auto-login, quit the program after you're done.
- Start 'Xlink Kai Evolution VIII'.
- Click the globe icon in the menu bar & access the list of supported game systems.
- Select PS2 > Gran Turismo 4 arena.
- At this point, click the little arrow on the right-hand side of the Kai sidebar to expand the chat window. You'll see a list of everyone in the GT4 arena in the right and all the sub-games (or 'private arenas') on the left.
- Tell Kai that there's 'just me' playing & that you're 'hosting'.
- Enter the Network Battle mode in GT4 & get it to the point where you see the 'Waiting For Countdown...' screen on your TV.
- Select magnifying glass icon from Kai sidebar's top menu (the Diagnostic menu icon) to make sure you're properly connected. Make sure it's tagged 'Configured Properly'.

**Edit: I will try to post some screenshots in the future for this guide.

My GT4 Journey

Obtained a B-License. Got VolksWagen Lugo 1.4 '02, 100mph (guessing that's a euro VW Golf). Entered a Beginner Course, haven't won a single one. Haven't done to great on them really, got lots of bronze. I think I might have to consider doing some works on the car(?). My friends said it's just me, cuz I can't drive :-/

Low Down on PSP with HDD

Sony's at it again with their new rumor. A PSP Prototype that includes an
internal 50gigs HDD. According to Joystiq.com:

*** "A prototype of the new portable might be out by year-end, but mass production of the new device probably would not happen until next year, he said. Could this mobile multimedia device viably challenge the iPod?" ***

Questions that need to be asked:
1. How will they fit an HDD in a, now already tiny and jam-packed, PSP?
2. Will there be a new, better battery power to support that HDD?
3. How much of a price increase would it be? Knowing that it is now an HDD-based gadget.
4. iPod killer for sure? cuz I'll buy it :D

Once again, it is only a rumor. Results may vary.

G-Mail Invites

For those who would like to get a taste of GMail, you may ask me (cuz I have about 60 of them that I don't know what to do with) OR you can go visit isnoop.net. You can request, as they say, a 'fair' amount of invites as you like to your liking.
Reminders for those Gmail nubs:

* Search, don't sort.

Use Google search to find the exact message you want, no matter when it was sent or received.

* Don't throw anything away.
1000 megabytes of free storage so you'll never need to delete another message.

* Keep it all in context.
Each message is grouped with all its replies and displayed as a conversation.

* No pop-up ads. No untargeted banners.
You see only relevant text ads and links to related web pages of interest.
